An injury alone does not establish who is responsible. Review considers how the event happened, who controlled the situation, what evidence exists, and how the alleged conduct relates to the harm.

The office’s acceptance criteria
How serious must the injuries be for our office to become involved?
Our office focuses its involvement on accidents involving serious physical injuries and significant emotional consequences. The physical injuries must be substantial enough to justify the costs, time, resources, and possible expert evidence the claim requires.
Review is individual: it considers documented injuries, treatment received, limitations, and the physical and emotional effects on the person’s life. The occurrence of an accident alone is not enough. The alleged negligent conduct, its connection to the injuries, and the available evidence are also examined.
When the extent of the injuries does not justify that involvement, the office may decline a consultation or representation. This internal criterion does not minimize a person’s suffering or amount to an opinion that no legal claim exists. Acceptance requires the office’s individual review.

How the process usually begins.
Initial screening in Clio Grow
The event, severity of physical and emotional harm, and allegedly negligent conduct are identified. Potential deadlines are reviewed. Initial consultations are free and strictly confidential, by videoconference. Every meeting requires completing Clio Grow intake first and receiving confirmation from the office.
Evidence and analysis
Photos, witnesses, reports, insurance information, and complete certified medical records, preferably with a certification letter, are reviewed. Evidence at risk of loss may need prompt preservation.
Options and agreement
Potential steps, risks, fees, and expenses are explained. Representation requires the office's acceptance and engagement process.
Claim or litigation
Depending on the case, work may involve an out-of-court claim, negotiation, discovery, or trial. No outcome is guaranteed.
The sequence may vary with the facts, legal deadlines, and available information.

Every initial consultation in medical malpractice, personal injury, and special education is free of charge and conducted on a strictly confidential basis. The office reviews whether the matter falls within its practice areas and meets its acceptance criteria, including the severity of injuries when relevant. Only if a consultation is appropriate does the office arrange a videoconference for the prospective client’s benefit and convenience.
