Your well-being comes first. If you experience anxiety, persistent sadness, trauma, complicated grief, or other emotional difficulties, seek professional assessment appropriate to your needs. You may begin with a psychologist and receive a psychiatric referral when appropriate.
Keep treatment records, appointments, diagnoses, recommendations, and progress information. Follow your healthcare professional’s plan; the law office does not prescribe treatment.
Treatment, evidence, and mitigation
Records can help document the nature, duration, and intensity of distress and its connection to events. Opposing parties may question symptoms or raise failure to mitigate when treatment or follow-up is absent. That does not automatically determine whether damages exist or their amount.
Honestly explain access difficulties, cancellations, or interruptions and discuss them with your provider. Do not exaggerate or minimize symptoms. Each claimant should document their own experience.
Separate expert evaluation
If the case continues, a psychologist or psychiatrist expert may need to review treatment and prepare a report. That work differs from clinical care and from expert review of the questioned medical treatment. It carries a separate cost to clarify before authorization.
The answer for your situation depends on the facts and records. An inquiry does not suspend legal deadlines or guarantee that the office will accept the case.
